Nelson Platform Bench
Originally designed by George Nelson for his office at the Fortune magazine headquarters - with whom he collaborated in the 30s and 40s - the Nelson Platform Bench is one of most iconic pieces by the American designer and architect. A classic of modernist design, the bench has the simplicity, lightness and rectilinear lines that reflect George Nelson’s architectural background and his insistence on the development of an honest design, visually assuming the purpose of an object. With a natural solid ash seat and black dyed wood base, the Nelson Platform Bench by Vitra - which can serve as bench or coffee table - is a regular presence in Vector Mais projects such as Uriach in Lisbon or Deloitte Digital in Porto (below).
