Founded in 1987, Miranda is one of Portugal's leading law firms. After several years in Amoreiras, the firm decided to relocate to one of Lisbon's most modern office buildings, Allo, located in Alcântara. To bring its new workspace to life, Miranda partnered with Vector Mais, which was responsible for the fit-out and furniture supply, and with CBRE, which led the architectural design.

The reception area features a unique layout that serves as the gateway to the new office, welcoming both employees and visitors. A small auditorium and a library that seamlessly integrate with the surrounding space create a multifunctional environment, ideal for legal research, taking a break, or simply enjoying the views of the bridge and the Tagus River. Beyond the reception area, a zone of meeting rooms stands out for its use of natural materials, such as wood, and high-quality finishes.

The rest of the office is divided into partners’ private offices, open-plan workspaces, and various informal areas designed for collaboration or focused work. An inspiring art collection adorns the entire workspace, reinforcing the firm's identity throughout. The construction solutions were tailored to meet Miranda's needs, bringing the whole team together on a single floor.

The office combines an industrial character, highlighted by exposed ceilings and technical installations, with timeless elegance. It supports various working styles while also offering breakout areas, such as the cafeteria. In this space, a carefully curated selection of furniture and finishes creates an ideal setting for social interaction and team spirit.

“The project stands out for the careful selection of materials and furniture, guided by two key principles: the use of elegant, timeless materials, and the seamless integration of Miranda’s art collection into the overall design.”

What was the client's briefing? And how was that information translated into the project?Miranda is one of the leading law firms in Portugal, and recently, it decided to relocate its headquarters from Amoreiras to one of Lisbon’s most iconic office buildings — Allo, which offers privileged views of the bridge and the Tagus River. The office layout was developed in close collaboration with Miranda, who was actively involved throughout the entire process, allowing for the creation of a space that is both appealing to the teams and welcoming to clients. The work areas, featuring open-plan zones and double offices, were placed at the heart of the space, forming ‘neighborhoods’ that foster connection and collaboration among different teams. Along the façades near the individual offices, a variety of environments were integrated, all connected to the work areas. These environments offer spaces for formal and informal meetings, individual focus zones, and areas for rest and social interaction. One of Miranda’s key requirements was the creation of a Social Hub — a meeting point for employees that could also host events with clients. This area was positioned along the façade with the best view of the bridge.

Which elements do you highlight in the project?
The library. Miranda wanted the reception area not only to serve as the firm's welcome space for all visitors but also as a place where the team and clients could come together. The library was integrated into the reception area and designed as an amphitheater with multiple levels. This space not only houses Miranda’s library — accessible for consultation by its professionals — but also functions as a venue for meetings and presentations with larger audiences.
