The new Veleta sofa

Social and collaborative spaces are becoming increasingly important in modern workplaces, and lounge furniture plays a crucial role in shaping these environments. The new Veleta modular sofa, designed by Pearson Lloyd for esPattio, exemplifies how to blend comfort, aesthetics, and flexibility into one cohesive system.

Veleta is a modular seating system designed to provide inclusive comfort for various body types and sitting preferences. With modules available in different heights and depths, it offers multiple levels of support for individuals who wish to sit upright, recline, work alone, or interact in a group setting — all without the need for mechanical adjustments. Its design creates a warm, sculptural landscape that intuitively adapts to the user's needs.

Inspired by the vibrant and warm identity of southern Spain, Veleta uses color as a tool to define mood and purpose. Its soft tones help set a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging people to feel at ease, find their place, and connect with their surroundings.

In addition to its aesthetic and ergonomic qualities, the plywood frame system was developed by the designers in collaboration with esPattio, allowing for repair, reuse, and material recovery. This approach combines contemporary design with a commitment to environmental responsibility.
