Kern: modularity and comfort in the workplace

Kern by Inclass is a modular sofa system designed to create different configurations in workplaces, hospitality settings and collective-use environments. Developed by Pearson Lloyd, the system combines seating modules, backrests and complementary elements that can be arranged according to the space and its intended use.

Its refined design language and the possibility of combining different modules allow Kern to adapt to a variety of environments, creating anything from small breakout areas to larger settings for meetings and collaboration.

In Cegoc’s new office, designed by CBRE, Vector Mais supplied a Kern sofa for an area separating two open-plan spaces. Located alongside the façade, with a view of the outdoor area, the sofa occupies a strategic position between the two workspaces, creating a transition point without interrupting the office’s visual continuity.

The choice of this piece helps define a more informal area within the open-plan space, associated with moments of pause or interaction, while its position alongside the façade also enhances the connection with natural light and the outdoors.

It is an example of how furniture selection can respond simultaneously to the characteristics of a space and to the different ways in which it is used, integrating seamlessly with the architecture while retaining its own identity.
