Sustainability and the choice of suppliers

Tip Ton RE

The attribution of ISO 14001 certification reinforced Vector Mais' commitment to sustainability, which is also reflected in the choice of suppliers and solutions in our projects. Choosing manufacturers who are also making an effort to lower their impact on the environment is essential to reducing the final impact of each project. Vitra and Forma 5, two of our major furniture suppliers, are excellent examples, creating lasting and timeless solutions with a lower environmental impact.

HAL RE

In addition to products such as the Toolbox RE and the Tip Ton RE or HAL RE chairs made with recycled plastic, Vitra has gone a long way towards making its operation and collections more sustainable. The substitution of materials for more ecological alternatives is visible in products such as the ID Cloud chair, which is 100% recyclable; in the Laser RE fabric, produced with recycled polyester; or in the Repos and Grand Repos armchairs, which now feature removable covers and an internal structure in recycled plastic. By 2030, the Swiss brand intends to have a negative ecological footprint; follow the products throughout their life cycle, ensure their use for the maximum time and facilitate their recycling; increase transparency by showing more detailed information about where and how a product has been manufactured.

Plastic to recycle

In turn, Forma 5 (and its new Pattio brand) has also invested heavily in its products' material and aesthetic longevity, allowing for more extended use of its solutions. Introducing recycled or recyclable materials is also a reality in the Spanish brand's collections, reducing the impact of products on the environment. In its factory in Andalusia, Forma 5 installed 4320 solar panels, which occupy a large part of the roof of its facilities, in an area of over 15.000 m², reducing emissions by 229 tons of CO2 annually.
